2008 was year of "Transition"! Quick Recap:
- Summer 2007: My daughter is born and a desire to create wealth rapidly while having the freedom to spend my time with her begins. I had already began to scale back on my marketing agency duties to make time for short leave of absense.
- Fall 2007: See a consistent theme across millionaire mentality books. The way to wealth is through business ownership and real estate investing.
- Spring 2008: Begin searching for real estate investing education resources. Join Nouveau Riche and begin brainstorming my career change.
- June 2008: Launch TheRealEstateNewbie.com as a way to learn, share what I am learning, and network with other real estate investors as I learn. News8Austin features me on their story for The Central Texas Foreclosure Tour as a homebuyer/real estate investor.
- July 2008: Put together the first "No Money No Credit" Austin Bus Tour for local real estate investors about the investing strategy- Subject-To.
- August 2008: Interviewed for "Football Wives Who Win" Online Radio Show about "How to Score a Real Estate Touchdown".
- September 2008: Interview Sally Brown, wife of UT- Longhorns Mack Brown (and fellow Coach's wife) for my Podcast about Land Development. (Dream realized!)
- Winter 2008: Announce my vision to launch in 2009 Sara's Home: Home Mortgage Relief Fund for Cancer Patients. A large and very personal undertaking.
2009 is a year of "Prosperity"! Goals:
- Sara's Home: Save 100 cancer patients' homes from foreclosure. Raise $500k to fund the non-profit organization.
- TheRealEstateNewbie.com: Continue to build this site as a wealth of information for real estate investing newbies. Provide quality content through bringing on more contributors, quality podcast guests, and more. Be ranked in the Top 200k by Alexa.com.
- As a Real Estate Investor: Purchase first two investment properties. Do multiple deals a month. Continue learning. Bring in an income that will enable me to give $50k from my personal income to Sara's Home.
- Personal: Spend more than 65% of my time with my daughter. Reach optimum health. Grow Spiritually. Be surrounded at all times with friends and loved ones. Love what I do. Keep learning.

  This month I talk about my vision for Sara's Home.org. I'm launching Sara's Home in 2009 as a way to give back as I grow and become a successful entrepeneur and real estate investor. It's my goal to help 100 cancer patients' families in 2009 not lose their homes due to foreclosure, bankruptcy, bank reposession or any other means due to choosing to pay for life-saving medical treatments instead of a home mortgage. Sara's Home is dedicated and named after my cousin Sara Guerrero whom passed away from Small Intestine cancer in 2006. Her legacy and desire to have family (home) of her own plus the financial difficulties that her family endured inspired me to start this organization. We're needing $500k in 2009 to fully fund this organization and truly make a difference in people's lives across America.
